Melbourne becomes comedy capital of the UNIVERSE each April, as we take over the city with an enormous program of stand-up comedy, cabaret, theatre, street performance, film, television, radio and visual arts.
Melbourne International Comedy Festival is Australia’s largest ticketed cultural event, and one of the top three largest comedy festivals in the world, alongside Montreal’s Just for Laughs and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival – held in March/April every year – is impossible to miss, with the city practically shaking with laughter every night for several weeks. MICF is back in 2022, with the festival running from March 30 to April 24.
